Prescribing for Pediatrics

It is no secret that the youngest patients have the hardest time taking medicine. For some kids, the treatments can be worse than being sick… but we at Peninsula Compounding believe that it doesn’t have to be so hard. We have plenty of tricks up our sleeve to ensure that taking medicine is as pain-free as possible for pediatric patients.

Compounded medications from Peninsula Compounding can be flavored to make them taste better. When we combine special flavors with unique and kid-friendly dosage forms, we turn medicine time from a struggle to a treat.

The skilled pharmacists at Peninsula Compounding can provide medicine in the following dosage forms:

  • Oral liquids
  • Lollipops
  • Gummy treats
  • Topical gels

Working closely with a compounding pharmacist, you can prescribe medications for:

  • Pain relief
  • Oral thrush
  • Diabetes
  • Head lice
  • Diaper rash
  • Skin disorders
  • Cold sores/fever blisters
  • And much more!

Strength and Ingredient Variations

Each child is unique. Children differ in size and individual needs. Some have allergies and varying drug tolerances, requiring medications which are sugar-free, gluten-free, casein-free, soy-free, or dye-free. As a result, can be a challenge to find a commercially available medication suitable for your child’s individual needs. A compounding pharmacist can work with you to formulate a medication which meets all the child’s requirements.

Everything They Need, Nothing They Don’t

Many of the flavors we offer at Peninsula Compounding are sugar-free and some are even dye-free – this can often help children who are sensitive or allergic. This is just one of the many benefits of custom compounded medications for pediatric patients.
