Compounding Pharmacist (no experience necessary, will train for right fit)
Seeking Compounding Pharmacist to join our compounding team in Long Beach, Washington. (Serving the entire NW).
Target Annual Compensation: $153-$180K with bonus
No Compounding Experience Required…we will train for right fit!
This position does require you to relocate to our amazing community of Long Beach WA (or within 45 min drive). NO REMOTE APPLICANTS, we are seeking someone willing to join our team and our community for the long term.

Long Beach, Washington is a small town located at the mouth of the Columbia River. We are located on a 28-mile-long Peninsula with the ocean on one side and Willapa Bay on the other. We are just across the river from Astoria, Oregon. We are 2 hours to Portland and 3 hours to Seattle. This position offers flexibility as needed while primarily working Monday through Friday approx. 9-5:30. We are open to creative work schedules as well!
We are looking for someone who can help us to establish long-term partnerships with providers based on building a consultative relationship with the goal of elevating outcomes through progressive protocols and formulations.

Qualifications
- Registered Pharmacist (Required)
- Licensed pharmacist (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or PharmD
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy is a must
- Understands and adheres to HIPAA
- Compounding experience preferred, but not required!!!
Roles and Responsibilities:
•This role includes dispensing of prescribed therapies, conducting rigorous assessments of formulas for patient safety, managing inventory, and ensuring the steadfast adherence to established safe and sanitary department practices
•You will enhance patient safety, ensure medication efficacy, and ultimately contribute to better health outcomes
•Lead Compounding Department: Apply exceptional knowledge of compound formulations and techniques, drug interactions, best practices in non-sterile compounding
•Drug Utilization Reviews: Conduct ongoing evaluations of drug utilization patterns, assess cost-effectiveness, and provide recommendations for optimizing drug therapy
•Drug Information: Provide drug information to both patients and education to healthcare professionals
•Stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in pharmacotherapy
•Adverse Event Monitoring: Monitor and report adverse drug reactions or medication errors and implement strategies to prevent such incidents
· Develop and maintain positive relationships with providers, patients, and staff.
· Support the implementation of strategic initiatives and decisions by the leadership team.
· Participate as an active member of PCCA networking groups and educational opportunities.
· Collaborate with other pharmacy leadership, system-wide, to support quality delivery of Peninsula Compounding’s value proposition as well as company mission, vision, and values.
· Collaborate with peers to expand educational resources, progressive protocols, and formulary initiatives that optimize therapeutic outcomes and ensure the use of cost-effective pharmacotherapy.
· Collaborate with the leadership team to provide guidance on clinical areas of opportunity, participating in sales/educational activities such as calling on or participating in ZOOM meetings with providers

What will you do in this role?You are critical to the operation of our pharmacy. You will be helping all of our customers in many different respects as well as doing data entry of payment information for customers, helping with inventory and taking special orders, working in the mail room to process mail and preparing deliveries, and talking to patients on the phone to let them know their orders are ready or verifying information about their order. You might even be tasked with a deescalating a disgruntled customer rarely…we love these opportunities; it provides a platform for us to shine. Over the past several years we have invested heavily in training our team and promoted from within.
What is the path to becoming a Pharmacy Technician? We do not require you to attend a school in order to be a tech, so going this route saves you like $18k+ in tuition, plus you are paid while you are being trained. You will need a technician license and a bunch of training, but we’ll help you with that.
Is this a part-time or full-time position? This is a full-time position, 40 hours a week, M-F
What kind of hours would you work? Our lab is open weekdays from 9am to 5:30pm. We are very flexible in working with you to adjust your schedule as things pop up.

What safety measures have you implemented during COVID-19? To help keep our employees safe during COVID-19 we have instituted the following procedures:

- We practice social distancing measures and have staggered breaks and lunches to ensure that everyone can safely eat and drink without their mask on.
- We clean all high-touch areas in the pharmacy 2 times a day.
Will I stand a lot? Yes! There is lots of standing and moving stuff around for this job. If this is not something you enjoy doing, or if you don’t like standing for most of the day, this is probably not the best fit for you.
